The MicroPen EVO creates thousands of precise and controlled micro-injuries (micro-channels) within the targeted areas, which in turn, stimulates new collagen synthesis. Fibroblasts that lie dormant become active and multiple, increasing the production of collagen and elastin within the treated areas, while simultaneously avoiding any scarring. This process takes advantage of the skin’s natural healing process.

Collagen and elastin are the essential protein fibers within the skin that give it the support and elasticity that is required to stay rejuvenated and youthful. As we age, these fibers naturally break down, leading to fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and larger pores, but as a result of this treatment, the skin will appear smoother, tighter and the tone will be more even.

A thorough medical screening will be conducted on all clients that are interested in this service, as there are several contraindications that would prevent someone from being treated.

Once a client is deemed safe to treat and a skin analysis is performed, a topical anesthetic and non-cytotoxic hydrogel will be applied to the skin to ensure that maximum comfort and glide throughout the treatment is achieved.

Surgical-grade, non-traumatic microneedles will then perforate the skin rapidly and precisely, creating on average over a million micro-channel injuries to the skin that will stimulate the body’s natural healing cascade of the skin.

Following this procedure, a biocellulose masque will be applied to the skin, allowing it to quickly soothe, cool and calm the treated area. A post-treatment regime will be thoroughly discussed with all clients, as well, the client will have a take-home gel that will be applied as instructed.

Some minor pinpoint bleeding is to be expected immediately post-treatment, followed by bright redness (comparable to a sunburn), which typically subsides after 2-3 days, depending on the level of treatment and the reaction of the skin. Some client’s may opt for a more aggressive treatment approach, depending on their social, work downtime preference and skin needs.

Due to a lower downtime, client’s often opt for a lighter service (the depth of the needles) every 1-2 months in order to maintain their appearance. However, if your goal is to resolve specific skin irregularities and you have the flexibility within your schedule for the 2-3 days of downtime, a recommendation of a more aggressive approach may be suggested, with a series of 3(+) treatments at 4-6 week intervals.
